Big Adventure Across America: Day 2

So we left Washington DC on our way to Knoxville, TN. On our way, we were to travel through Shenandoah National Park on Skyline Drive. It’s a scenic drive in Virginia with tons of Overlooks of Mountains and Fields, where you can see beautiful sights and even wildlife. You can only drive 35 mph because the trip has windy roads and there is so much to see, you wouldn’t want to miss any of it. We took our time and stopped a lot. We were on the hunt for a Bear but unfortunately we didn’t see any. But we happened across a lot of deer that were right on the road.

The Best part of the ride was most definitely catching the Sunset over the mountains. You can really see why they call it Purple Mountains Majesty. It was remarkable and something I wouldn’t forget. It took us a couple hours to finish that part of the trip and it we only did about 30 miles. The whole ride is about 100 miles and continues into the Smokey Mountains of North Carolina.

After that we drove another 6-7 hours to Tennessee. We alternated driving and it wasn’t too bad. Unfortunately hit one bump in the road, but we got passed it. Got to Knoxville kinda late but passed out quick. Ready for the next trip through Alabama to New Orleans.
